1 lb. regular or sage breakfast sausage
1 cup apples cut up fine
½ cup celery cut up small
1 medium onion cut up small
Herb stuffing mix (1 or 2 pkgs. Depending on size of turkey to stuff) It tells on the bag how large of a bird it will stuff.
Cook Sausage and drain it
mix up stuffing mix according to directions on the bag and then mix it all in all other ingredients (apples, celery, etc.)
Cooking
If making dressing: put in pan and cook according to directions on box.
If making stuffing: Be certain the turkey cavity is WELL cleaned out and the entire bird is washed thoroughly with water only.
Make sure you get the plastic bag out of the neck cavity too as that will have the giblets in it.
Stuff the bird after the cavity is well cleaned and also the neck cavity gets stuffed.
Put legs back in holders and put turkey back together to hold stuffing in the cavities. Cook the turkey on its back according to directions for cooking time.
